October 6th 2020 – Dealing with COVID-Related Social Security Overpayments-To Waive or Not to Waive? – Webinar

October 6, 2020 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Many Social Security benefit recipients who incurred a COVID-related overpayment of their SSDI and/or SSI benefits may be eligible for a semi-automatic waiver of the overpayment if they meet eligibility criteria and take the right actions! Join us for a review of Social Security proposed regulations for streamlined processes for waiving recovery of certain overpayments that occurred as a result of COVID-related measures taken by SSA.

Participants will:
– Learn more about the eligibility criteria for these special waiver provisions,
– Understand special considerations for working Title II recipients who experienced an overpayment as a result of COVID-related hazard pay,
– Learn how to request a Recovery of Overpayment Waiver under both the COVID-related streamlined processes and standard waiver request processes, and
– Obtain electronic resources for further research and comment as well as usable resources for requesting waiver either in writing or by phone.
